Banco di San Giacomo e Vittoria

Location: Via Toledo (where the central headquarters of the Banco di Napoli and the City Hall of Naples are now located)

 

Thanks to the efforts of the Viceroy don Pedro de Toledo, the institution of a church and hospital for the treatment of the Spanish subjects who were sick and poor.

The Church and hospital were reunited in a single institution which was named the Santa Casa and Chiesa di San Giacomo e Vittoria, for which the Banco di San Giacomo e Vittoria was created in 1597. The building was used as the House of Ministers in 1819, and at present it is the headquarters for the General Directors of the Banco di Napoli and City Hall of Naples.
